Inception, The Greatest Trick Nolan Ever Pulled

My wife and I finally got the chance to watch Inception recently. I know, I know, we’re behind. We chatted about the movie a bit afterward, and the next day she had a pretty awesome take on what the film was about. I asked her to write up her analysis so that I could post it here to share with you guys. I know you’re already thinking tl;dr, but I think that if you are even remotely interested in the film, you should give this write-up a read. And when you’re done reading, go watch the movie again.

15 Minutes of Game – The Post-Show

15 Minutes of Game LogoHey everyone –

As we’ve mentioned, Jon and I spend a lot of time chatting before and after the recordings of 15 Minutes of Game. In fact, it’s often where a lot of our show topics come from. Several listeners have asked us on Twitter if we’d ever record one of these chats and post it. We’re still not sure why you want to hear it, but after our last show, I hit the record button midway through a Green Lantern conversation, and now all of your wishes and dreams can come true! Below is a special hour-long chat that we’re calling our Thanksgiving Holiday Special for reasons unbeknownst to me. But give it a listen anyway if you want some insights into how our conversation topics come about!

15 Minutes of Game LogoThis episode, in which we totally intended to talk about other topics entirely, gets taken over by discussion of comic book films, primarily The Dark Knight Rises, and a little bit of some other stuff. We also briefly discuss WootStock, our new Facebook page and… other things!

It means worry less about pomp and circumstance, and more about getting the job done effeciently and creatively.

Why I Want Video Game Movies

I’m a big movie fan. I think it’s a brilliant medium for telling stories. I also think the same of video games, and they have the added bonus of making the story interactive. Very few new games come out without me thinking to myself, “I’d love to see a movie of this,” and until I was recently playing through Red Dead Redemption, I never thought about why. For decades now, people have tried crossing back and forth between the two mediums, usually with horrific results. So why do I continue to eagerly crave video game movies?
