15 Minutes of Game – The Post-Show

15 Minutes of Game LogoHey everyone –

As we’ve mentioned, Jon and I spend a lot of time chatting before and after the recordings of 15 Minutes of Game. In fact, it’s often where a lot of our show topics come from. Several listeners have asked us on Twitter if we’d ever record one of these chats and post it. We’re still not sure why you want to hear it, but after our last show, I hit the record button midway through a Green Lantern conversation, and now all of your wishes and dreams can come true! Below is a special hour-long chat that we’re calling our Thanksgiving Holiday Special for reasons unbeknownst to me. But give it a listen anyway if you want some insights into how our conversation topics come about!

15 Minutes of Game – Episode 11

15 Minutes of Game LogoFor Episode 11, we brought back one of our Facebook topics of the day, specifically gaming music. Jon’s a big fan of music in games, so we took some time to discuss how important it it, who we thought had the best music, and how videogame music compares to other mediums. Also, we spent almost an hour rambling on about various topics after the show. We recorded our post-show ramblings, and we’ll be putting that up this weekend for thos folks who’ve been asking what our pre- and post-show conversations are like. Be sure to look out for that in a few days!

15 Minutes of Game – Episode 10

15 Minutes of Game LogoThis episode is a bit of a hot topic! We discuss the comparisons between press and community sites. Having some experience on the inside of things as community manager, we spill the beans on some of our perspectives about how sites qualify as what, who takes care of whom, and what makes for a good community site.

My Game Dev Story – Cadmus Labs

Cadmus Labs - Our Studio After 20 Years.

I’ve been addicted to Game Dev Story for the past week and a half or so, and last night I wrapped up my first 20 years in business. Since the game is called “Story,” I thought that I’d share the story of my studio, Cadmus Labs.

Please RT.

Yesterday, a small bit of dust was kicked up about whether or not it was okay to ask for followers or to ask for retweets. The implication of an original post was that it was a “faux-pas” to do either of these things. While I’ll definitely back up that it’s generally a faux-pas to ask for followers (hey, I’ve done it once or twice when I’m very close to cresting a milestone number), I couldn’t disagree more about the retweets.

15 Minutes of Game – Episode 6

15 Minutes of Game LogoAfter much GDC-Onlining and Zombie-Apocalypsing, Six Okay finally is reunited with long-time collaborator and buddy-cop partner Weezul in this, the sixth episode of 15 Minutes of Game. So what’s up? Well, this time we answer a couple quick twitter requests, and spend some time talking about old school and new school community managers, and a little less time talking about social gaming and the like.
